Congress Heights on the Rise has video of an ANC commissioner using language that is shocking -- though perhaps not surprising.

The Congress Heights resident known as The Advoc8te and others have reported foul language from ANC 8C03 Commissioner Mary Cuthbert before. The Washington City Paper reported that Commissioner Cuthbert called a Ward 8 resident "poor white trash" in 2003, while The Advoc8te says she threatened to "whoop [her] ass" last year.

Now, Congress Heights on the Rise has video of Commissioner Cuthbert hurling an unprintable racial epithet at Larry Pretlow II -- a challenger for her ANC 8C03 seat. Both Cuthbert and Pretlow are African Americans.

The video is below. Spoiler alert: Don't say we didn't warn you about that racial epithet.

Commissioner Cuthbert did not immediately return a telephone call for comment.

The video raises some important questions. Is using that racial epithet against an opponent an unpardonable offense in an election? And if it's not, do ANC elections mean anything at all?
