A Florida woman is being held on $16,000 bond after officials said she fled in a stolen car and climbed a tree to elude cops.

Amy Meissner, 43, is charged with grand theft, feeling or eluding police, not having a driver's license and reckless driving for the Sept. 30th incident, according to a Palm Beach Police report.

Police first made contact with Meissner on the 300 block of South Ocean Boulevard at 12:45 a.m. following reports of a stolen 2005 Chevy Avalanche, the report said. Officers followed the car and conducted a traffic stop on the 100 block of Brazilian Avenue, but instead of complying the woman rolled up an open tinted window and drove off before cops got a good look at her, police said.

Meissner took off at 60 mph, almost ramming into a police car and failing to stop at several intersections, the report said. Police lost sight of her, but were directed to the Four Arts Plaza by a nearby fisherman.

After a short while, they found Meissner hiding by some trees which she climbed to jump onto the roof of a building, police said.

She eventually came down and was taken into custody.

While in custody, she told officers she hadn't been driving the car, but couldn't name the person who was, police said. Officers noted in the report that a pair of flip flops that looked like they were Meissner's size were found on the driver's side of the stolen car, the report said. Meissner was barefoot when she was arrested, according to police.

Before being taken to jail, Meissner was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital after she complained of pain in her feet, police said. Doctors found she had broken each of her big toes.
