The online lottery for tickets to the White House Easter Egg Roll opened Friday.

In addition to egg rolling, the White House says the April 21 event will feature sports courts and cooking stations as a part of First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! initiative. There will also be live music and storytelling.

The lottery for free tickets will close Monday at 10 a.m.

Winners will be drawn randomly after the lottery closes.

Last year's event went on as planned despite fears that the annual bash would become a victim of the sequester.

More than 35,000 people attended the star-studded event, which featured British boy band The Wanted, Academy Award-nominated actress Quvenzhane Wallis ("Beasts of the Southern Wild"), singer Jordin Sparks, NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson and the Washington Nationals' Racing Presidents mascots.

The Easter Egg Roll is held annually the Monday after Easter on the south lawn of the White House.
