Many people pray before a serious medical procedure, but one woman held a dance party in the operating room instead.
Right before going into surgery to have her breasts removed, Deborah Cohan, an Ob/Gyn and mom of two, boogied with her surgical and anesthesia teams at Mt. Zion Hospital in San Francisco.
The six-minute-long video of the fete, posted on YouTube, shows Cohan in a hospital gown and bouffant cap and the medical staff dressed in scrubs busting some serious moves to Beyonce’s “Get Me Bodied.”
Cohan also asked her friends and family to take photos or record videos of themselves dancing to Queen Bee’s jam on the day of her surgery and send them to her. She believes they will help her in the recovery phase.
“I have visions of a healing video montage,” she wrote on her CaringBridge page. “Nothing brings me greater joy than catalyzing others to dance, move, be in their bodies. Are you with me people?”
