Snakes in the Walls: Lawsuit Says Md. Home Is Infested

An Annapolis, Maryland, couple says their real estate agent knew their future home was infested with snakes when she sold it to them.

Jeff and Jody Brooks filed a $2 million lawsuit two weeks ago after they say their family was driven out of their home because it is crawling with snakes, The Capital Gazette reports

Since moving into the home, the Brooks say exterminators have found numerous black rat snakes, snakeskins, dens, tunnels and snake feces. The snakes ranged in size; the longest was 7 feet, and it was found in the basement, directly below the room where their daughter, Lilly, slept.

The Brooks, who purchased the house on Broadneck Peninsula in December, are seeking more than four times the price of the house in their lawsuit against real estate agent Barbara Van Horn, Champion Realty and former homeowner Joan Broseker.

According to the lawsuit, a snake inspector determined the house was infested and unsafe for children.
