Police Arrest 2 in Burning of Trump Billboard in Maryland

    Police Arrest 2 in Burning of Trump Billboard in Maryland

    Officials charged two women from the Baltimore area in connection with the burning of a billboard promoting President Donald Trump.

    Joy Shuford and D'Asia Perry, both 19, face multiple charges after a billboard in Princess Anne was set fire early Friday morning, according to the Baltimore Sun.

    Charges being filed include second-degree arson, trespassing and committing a hate crime for the blaze that caused $800 worth of damage, officials said.

    Police took Perry into custody after viewing a surveillance image and indentifying her as the driver of the vehicle involved, the Delmarva Daily Times reported.

    U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell released the GOP's health care overhaul on Thursday. The 142-page proposal includes massive cuts to Medicaid, cuts in taxes for the wealthy and defunding of Planned Parenthood for at least one year. The Congressional Budget Office has not had a chance to score the Senate's bill yet. Under the House bill, the CBO found found that 23 million Americans would lose their   coverage by 2026.

    Police were seeking another person when Shuford turned herself in Saturday. Both women have been released on an unsecured $20,000 bond.
