Miami Billionaire Uses Personal Helicopter to Aid Joaquin Victims

Miami billionaire Mike Fernandez spent his Sunday bringing aid to those affected by Hurricane Joaquin.

Fernandez, founder of the venture capital firm MBF Healthcare Partners, flew his helicopter back and forth from Long Island, Bahamas, one of the areas hit hardest by this week's storm.

The airport in Long Island is still underwater, and only helicopters can safely land there.

Fernandez and his crew found and rescued a group of tourists that had not been seen since the storm.

Hurricane Joaquin moved out of the Bahamas Sunday night as it weakened to a Category 3 storm. Rescuers have found floating debris and oil sheen that they suspect may belong to a U.S. cargo ship that went missing with 33 people on board.

Joaquin started as a tropical storm at the end of September and has strengthened to a hurricane heading off the coast of the United States.
