SoCal Man “Engulfed in Flames” at Halloween Carnaval Dies

The man was burned at a Halloween Carnaval celebration and died the following morning

Homicide detectives on Sunday probed the death of a 51-year-old man who was engulfed in flames during a Halloween festival in West Hollywood.

The incident happened on Thursday night, during the Halloween Carnival on Santa Monica and San Vicente Boulevard.

The coroner on Sunday identified the man as Gilbert Estrada, 51.

His brother told NBC4 on Saturday that Estrada died Friday morning at Cedars-Sinai Hospital.

Detectives were asking for the public's help to determine the source of the ignition, or how the the man became engulfed in flames.
