One woman was arrested and dozens of roosters were seized after deputies broke up a cockfight at a home in Riverside County on Saturday night, authorities said.

Riverside County sheriff’s deputies raided the home in the 5200 block of El Rivino Road in Jurupa Valley after receiving a call about a large cockfight taking place around 9:45 p.m.

"Deputies arrived at the location and the large crowd started to immediately disperse," according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department press release.

Officials said about 50 people were detained, including 40-year-old Jacquelyn Acosta, who lives at the home.

Acosta was arrested and faces charges of animal cruelty, operating an illegal gamecock fight, possession of gaffs for gamecock fighting and possession of gamecocks for fighting.
