Ford is recalling more than 1 million cars in North America due to problems that could result in the loss of electric power steering assist while driving, making it harder to turn the vehicle, NBC News reported. Six injuries and five crashes related to the issue have been reported to U.S. regulators. The models affected are Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner vehicles with model years 2008 to 2011 and Ford Explorers with model years 2011 to 2013.
