“Trouble in Toyland” Report Details Dangerous Toys

Buyer beware. The Public Interest Research group has released a report detailing the "most dangerous toys of the year." The "Trouble in Toyland" report details toys on store shelves that present choking hazards, have too much lead, or are dangerously marketed to the wrong age groups. Some toys to watch for this year include products from the popular Littlest Pet Shop Candyswirl Dreams Collection, the Fisher-Price Loving Family Outdoor Barbecue, and Gobble Gobble Guppies, among others. One toy found at Toys"R"Us, the Captain America Soft Shield, had 29 times the legal limit of lead. There have been 31 toy recalls this year, down from a high of 231 in 2007, according to NBC News. The majority of toys recalled today have parts between 2.25 and 1.25 inches wide that can easily get lodged in a child's throat. Check out the full report here.
