A 30-year-old woman was killed in a car crash Sunday evening in Wheaton, Maryland, officials said.
Michelle Renee Sears, of District Heights, died after she was involved in a car crash at Denley and Randolph roads, Montgomery County Police said.
Police and an EMS crew responded to the crash about a half-mile southwest of the Glenmont Metro station about 6:20 p.m.
According to the preliminary investigation, Sears was driving south on Denley Road in a 2011 Hyundai Sonata and crashed with a 2002 Ford Explorer being driven west by a 25-year-old Silver Spring man.
Sears was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died. The driver of the Explorer was not hurt.
The cause of the crash just east of Wheaton High School is under investigation.
