News4's exclusive video shows a group Metro riders stopping a thief who stole a fellow passenger’s phone.

Last month during the evening rush on the Red Line, a thief snatched an iPhone from a rider’s hands. In the video, the thief takes off but doesn’t get very far. A group of angry Metro passengers chase after him and surround him.

When he tries to make another break for it, the group takes him down to the ground. Authorities arrived a short time later and arrested the man.

Despite the good deed, Metro says riders should call police rather than take matters into their own hands.
