Aldi's Award-Winning $8 Rosé Is Finally Coming to the US

The wait is over.

For the first time, an award-winning $8 rosé from Aldi is finally hitting U.S. shelves.

The Exquisite Collection Cotes de Provence Rosé 2016 was ranked as one of the best in the world at the International Wine Challenge (also known as the "Oscars" of wine) in June.

More than three months after being named the IWC’s Great Value Rosé under £8 (roughly $10.33), the critically-acclaimed wine goes on sale across the U.S. on Sept. 20.

The rosé also took home a silver medal in the main competition, after a panel of judges did two weeks of blind taste testing. They noted that it tastes of "ripe summer stone fruits with generous acid palate and crisp bright finish."

The wine is from France, according to the grocery chain’s website, which describes it as delivering "delicate yet intense flavours of summer fruits, with a subtle quartzy spice."

A spokesperson for Aldi said the blend will be available for $7.99 nationwide while supplies last. The bargain grocer recommends pairing it with grilled fish and salads, or as an aperitif.

If you can’t find it at your local Aldi, or if rosé isn’t your blend, the company also has a handy list of their other wines that have won various awards and recognition around the world.
