Young Girl Killed in Crash in Southern Maryland

Police believe alcohol was a factor

Police believe alcohol was a factor in a car accident that killed a little girl in Charles County.

Jan-nae Woodard of Waldorf died in the crash Sunday afternoon.

A Chevy Tahoe crossed the median on Route 210 in Waldorf, Md, slamming into another SUV, and sideswiped the car in which Woodard was riding. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the car Woodard was in was airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Tahoe’s driver, 73-year-old Jackson Tutt of Fort Washington, Md., was injured but is expected to survive.

A passenger in the other SUV was also hurt, but police are not saying what her condition is.
