A Woodbridge man has been arrested for sexual assaults on a girl while she was between the ages of 5 and 19 in the 1990s.
The investigation by the Special Victims Bureau revealed that the victim, who is now a 34-year-old woman, was acquainted with Michael Karl Jefferson, now 51.
On July 10, Jefferson was arrested and charged with five counts of rape, five counts of aggravated sexual battery, five counts of forcible sodomy, and five counts of taking indecent liberties with a child.
He is being held without bond.
