Two Women Attacked on Popular Trail

Police want people using a popular trail in Prince George's County to be on alert after two women were attacked.

The Maryland National Capital Park Police are investigating the two incidents along the Northwest Branch Hiker Trail, near the West Hyattsville Metro Station.

Investigators said both women were abducted then sexually assaulted. The first attack happened March 12.  The second incident was on March 28. In one of the cases, the man was armed with a knife, police said.

Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to call police at 301-270-1100.
