Woman Who Walked From Vehicle After Crash Dies

Deceased rear-ended another vehicle in Rockville

A woman died after being able to walk from an accident in which she rear-ended another vehicle in Rockville, Md., according to Montgomery County police.

About 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, 56-year-old Patricia Greer Parks of Olney was driving near the intersection of Rockville Pike and Old Georgetown Road when she struck the rear of a vehicle that had slowed for traffic, police said.

She and the other driver, 51-year-old Ellen Margaret Girdharry of Rockville, were walking around when police arrived, officers said. Parks began complained of pain and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. She lost consciousness on the way to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The accident is under investigation.
