Woman Robbed, Sexually Assaulted Near Gallaudet

    Police are looking for two men wanted for sexually assaulting then robbing a woman last week near Gallaudet University last week.

    According to a news release, a woman reported she was walking in the area of West Virginia Avenue and Mount Olivet Street NE at 2 a.m. Dec. 21 when two men came up behind her. She said she was forced into a nearby alley, where the two men, one of whom was armed with a knife, sexually assaulted her. The victim said the men took her personal belongings before fleeing the area.

    The first suspect is described as a black man with a dark complexion, standing 5'11", between 27 and 28 years old, clean shaven and armed with a knife. The second is described as a black man standing between 5'8" and 5'10" and aged between 19 and 25 years old.

    Extra police officers monitored the area Monday evening. Police suggest women avoiding walking alone at night and stay alert.
