Woman Pulled Into Vacant Columbia, Md. Apartment by Stranger, Raped

Police say a woman in her 30s was pulled into a vacant apartment and sexually assaulted Wednesday morning in Columbia, Maryland.

Howard County Police say the incident was reported around 11 a.m. at the Columbia Landing Apartments in the 8800 block of Tamar Drive.

The victim said she was in the hallway of the apartment complex when a man without a shirt on engaged her in a conversation, then pulled her into a vacant apartment where he physically assaulted and raped her.

She said when her attacker walked into a bedroom, she fled and sought help at a nearby apartment. Police found no evidence of forced entry into the apartment in which the alleged rape occurred.

Police released a sketch of the suspect Friday.
