Woman Pulled From Apartment Fire

A woman is hospitalized in critical but stable condition after a fire in Columbia, Md., Friday morning.

Firefighters and paramedics responded to a report of a fire at the Columbia Landing apartments in the 8800 block of Tamar Drive before 9:30 a.m. They found a 56-year-old woman who was unconscious and had gone into cardiac arrest.

Firefighters rescued the woman from the building, and paramedics resuscitated her. She was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

Five apartments were affected by the fire, which was controlled by 10:10 a.m.

No other injuries were reported.

The cause is under investigation.
