Woman Killed In Pr. George's Hit-And-Run

Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal-hit-and-run in Prince George's County that happened early Saturday morning.

The collision happened in the northbound lanes of Maryland Route 5 north of Surratts Road at around midnight. Police found the body of a woman on the left shoulder of the highway, as well as debris from the striking vehicle.

Based on analysis of the debris, authorities believe that the vehicle may have been a late model Nissan, though that has not been definitively confirmed. There were no witnesses to the collision.

The victim has not been identified. Investigators say that she was trying to cross the northbound lanes of Maryland Route 5 when she was struck.
