A woman was hospitalized Sunday morning after her car jumped the curb and struck a building in Silver Spring.

Investigators say the accident happened at around 9:45 a.m. near the entrance of the Leisure World Community development. The Honda Sedan hit a brick post of the community's security booth at the entrance at the intersection of Norbeck Road and North Leisure World Boulevard.

The woman was taken to a local hospital. The extent of her injuries were not immediately known. There were no other passengers in the car and and no other injuries were reported.

Investigators say that a security guard managed to escape the booth just before the car hit it. The booth has been condemned by investigators as officially unsafe to be in.
