Montgomery County police have identified a woman who died after she was hit by a car while crossing a road in Clarksburg.
Police say Betty Lou Vest, 67, of Clarksburg, was trying to cross Frederick Road at about 7:42 p.m. Wednesday when she was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound. Vest was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The area has no marked crosswalk. The driver of the car remained on the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
