An expectant mother went into labor on a Metro train this afternoon, while fellow traveler, Metro staff and medics rushed to her aid.
The woman was traveling on the Red Line. Some people who said they witnessed the event said her water broke and that she seemed to be in pain.
Metro stopped the train to wait for an ambulance, then cleared the train. Medics got there in time and got the woman to George Washington Hospital to deliver her baby.
