Mom Gets 18 Months for Drywall Barricade

Young children barricaded in room

A northern Virginia woman was sentenced to serve a year and a half in prison for using drywall to barricade her three young daughters in a room.

Christina Moore of Bristow, va., was given a nine-year sentence in Prince William County Thursday, but all but 18 months of the sentence was suspended. Moore's also receiving credit for time served.

The girls, including an 18-month-old, were found in March 2011 left alone in a room barricaded with drywall. The oldest used mattresses to climb over the drywall and got a neighbor to help. A neighbor found Moore and 35-year-old John Robey passed out, and defense lawyers said they were struggling with drug addiction.

Moore said Thursday she now felt much better.

Robey was already sentenced to three years of probation.
