Police are looking for a 35-year-old man in connection with the death of his girlfriend inside a Falls Church home Wednesday.
Investigators say an arrest warrant for murder has been obtained against 35-year-old Juan Ramon Matetu Figueroa.
According to a news release, officers responded to a home in the 6900 block of Westmoreland Road around 9:30 a.m. for a welfare check. No one answered the door, and police later returned with the homeowner to check on 28-year-old Glenda Aviles.
Police say multiple people lived inside the home, and Aviles had rented a room there.
Once inside, they found her body. Detectives say she died from stab wounds.
