Police say a single mother of two was found dead inside an Arlington County home Friday morning after someone spotted her children outside in their pajamas.

A neighbor called police to the 1100 block of S. 18th Street at about 7:50 a.m. after 42-year-old Bonnie Black's two children were found outside.

"A passerby located her two children in their pajamas out in front of the house, in the intersection of the roadway," Arlington County Police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said.

Sternbeck says police have been in contact with the children's father, and he is cooperating with their  investigation.

Police are treating the incident as a suspicious death at this time.
