Montgomery County police have identified the woman killed in a parking lot in Potomac, Md., Sunday afternoon.
Shirley Spearman, 81, was walking from her car to the Giant store in the Cabin John Shopping Center when she was hit by an Acura MDX. Investigators say the Acura was making a left turn at the end of a parking aisle.
Fire and Rescue workers already at the grocery store on an unrelated call began assisting immediately. Spearman was taken to Suburban Hospital but later died of her injuries.
The driver, who remained at the scene. has not been charged yet.
The crash is still under investigation. Authorities say cameras in the parking lot may help determine the cause of the crash.
