Woman Mauled in Olney Dog Attack

She will need extensive plastic surgery, Montgomery County Animal Control said

A 24-year-old woman was walking her Rottweiler around 7 p.m. on Monday when the dog attacked a neighbor, biting off her lip.

The dog was being walked by its owner's daughter in the 2100 block of Rose Theatre Circle in Olney, Md., when she stopped to chat with the victim, news4's Jane Watrel reported. During the conversation, the leashed dog lunged and bit the lips of the victim.

She will need extensive plastic surgery, Montgomery County Animal Control said.

The dog has been quarantined to the owners' home for 10 days. Animal Control said this is the first incident involving the Rottweiler of which they're aware.

Police said the dog had no history of biting or attacking anyone.

The victim is known to her neighbors as the dog whisperer for being a well-known dog lover. She told neighbors she doesn't want to press charges.
