Woman Critically Injured After Fire Traps Her Inside Home

A disabled woman is in critical condition after a fire trapped her inside her home early Wednesday morning. 

The woman and her daughter were inside their Riverdale, Maryland, home when the fire started about 4:30 a.m. Multiple people in the neighborhood called 911 to report the fire. 

Fire officials say the victim's daughter was able to get out of the home safely and told firefighters her mother was trapped inside. 

Firefighters rescued the woman, and she was taken to the hospital with burns and smoke inhalation. The woman's daughter was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. A dog was also rescued from the home.
