Woman Calls for Pizza, Interrupts Robbery

She was calling to get a pizza, but instead she uncovered a robbery in progress.

Shortly before 1:40 p.m., a woman called Montgomery County police and told them her story: She had called a Pizza Hut in Gaithersburg to place an order, but store workers told her the restaurant was being robbed.

In the background, the woman could hear someone demanding money.

Montgomery County Police and Gaithersburg City Police responded to the Pizza Hut located in the 200 block of Muddy Branch Road in the Festival Shopping Center and found a robbery had occurred. No one was injured.

The suspect was armed with a gun and had obtained an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen fleeing the store on foot.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, 5’9” to 5’10” tall, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a cap and dark jacket.
