Arlington County police are investigating a knife attack on a woman along the Washington & Old Dominion Trail Saturday.

Investigators say the assault occurred shortly before noon near Bluemont Park and Four Mile Run. The unidentified woman was taken to a hospital with minor, non life-threatening stab wounds. It was not immediately clear if the woman was robbed, but officers did say that she was not sexually assaulted.

A spokesman for Arlington County Police said Saturday that authorities do not have any leads, nor do they have a description of the suspect.

The trail was briefly closed while police investigated the scene, but has since reopened.
