Woman Allegedly Sexually Abused Boy During Sleepover

Suspect held without bond

D.C. police arrested a mother of three after she allegedly sexually abused a 13-year-old boy during a sleepover.

“I was enraged,” his grandmother said. “I was upset that a grown woman would do this to a 13-year-old child.”

The boy lives across the hall from 32-year-old Zakiya Gaskins in an apartment building on First Street in Southwest. On Saturday, he was invited over to play with the Gaskins’s 9-year-old son.

Gaskins made the 13-year-old touch her private parts, according to court documents. She told police the boy voluntarily touched her.

“My grandson was smart enough to know that what she was doing was not right,” the boy’s grandmother said.

Gaskins was charged with first-degree sexual assault and is being held without bond.
