A woman was airlifted to a hospital with burns after her vape pen exploded in Northern Virginia on Saturday, officials say.
The woman was sitting in a car outside a vape shop in Herndon when the device exploded about 3:30 p.m., a representative of the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department said.
She was airlifted to a burn center after the incident in the 700 block of Grant Street, near a shopping center.
Additional information on her condition and what caused the explosion was not available immediately.
