Drivers who take the Beltway through Alexandria can expect delays this week.

Construction will take the Inner and Outer loops of the Beltway down to two lanes.

Fortunately, the work will not be done during rush hour. Crews will limit the lane closures to the daytime and overnight hours.

Beginning Monday, the Inner and Outer loops of the Beltway will go down to two lanes between the Metro overpass and the Beltway bridge over Cameron Run.

Northbound Telegraph Road will go down to one lane during the day between Huntington and Pershing avenues. Overnight, both directions will be impacted. Motorists should also expect ramp closures between Telegraph Road and the Beltway.

The work is happening this week between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The construction is part of the Wilson Bridge Project. Crews will be paving ramps and demolishing old bridge piers.
