D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty and Council member Jim Graham hosted an annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway Tuesday night at LeDroit Park Apartments in Northwest Washington.

Residents living in one northwest Washington apartment building aren't waiting until Nov. 26 to give thanks.
"Happy Thanksgiving" was repeatedly said Tuesday night as D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty and Council member Jim Graham hosted the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway at LeDroit Park Apartments.
Hundreds of people lined up to receive a free turkey.
"A turkey can feed a needy family for a week," Graham said. "We know that in this recession there are so many who really need this."
The event served about 375 residents.
