    Today is national holiday because the New Year came on a Sunday.

    That means the post office and most banks are closed.

    In D.C., parking meters won't be enforced today.  DCPS schools, libraries and federal government offices are closed.

    In Maryland, there will be no parking fees except for Prince George's County's New Carrollton Garage.
    Schools in Howard, St. Mary's and Charles Counties are open.  Libraries and government offices are closed.

    In Virginia, meters won't be enforced today.  Schools in Alexandria are open.  Libraries and government offices are closed.
