The remains of a U.S. Marine from western Maryland are coming home from the war in Afghanistan.

The Air Force Mortuary Affairs Office in Dover, Del., said the remains of Lance Cpl. Maung Htaik were scheduled for return to Dover Air Force Base on Monday afternoon.

The Air Force lists his hometown as Hagerstown.

The (Hagerstown) Herald-Mail listed him as a 2008 graduate of Smithsburg High School.

The Defense Department hasn't yet announced the date or circumstances of his death.
