Washington Hospital Center Nurses Plan 1-Day Strike for March

NBCWashington.com

Nurses are planning to hold a one-day strike early next month, according to the Washington Hospital Center.

The union representing 1,600 nurses notified management that they plan to strike on March 4, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The union voted last week to authorize the strike to protest wage cuts, staffing and other issues.

The nurses had threatened to strike the day before Thanksgiving, but backed down when negotiations resumed with management.
