A California-based retailer that bills itself as a "one-stop-shop" for marijuana growers says it has plans to open a location in northeast D.C.

weGrow, which currently has three stores in California and Arizona, sells hydroponic equipment used in marijuana cultivation.

The company says on their website that they have plans to move into an address at 1522 Rhode Island Avenue NE just north of Montana Avenue.

Washington Business Journal reports the store will open in March, selling all the necessary materials to grow marijuana except for the plants.

After many years in the making, medical marijuana cultivation centers and dispensaries will be opening around the District this year.  Growers have already applied for licenses, and applications are being reviewed by Area Neighborhood Commissions right now.  Cultivators will likely start growing this spring.
