A 19-year-old waitress was pulled into an alley and sexually assaulted last weekend in Glover Park, and police say the suspect may have been someone she served while at work that night. Pat Collins reports.
A 19-year-old waitress told police a man grabbed her and tried to make her perform a sex act early Sunday morning in Glover Park.
According to a police report, the woman reported the incident around 1 a.m. in the 2400 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW, a bustling neighborhood filled with bars and restaurants.
Sources tell News4 the suspect was a customer at the establishment where the woman worked earlier in the evening. The customer was "pushy" toward the woman while she was working, but she had ignored his advances at the time, sources say.
The victim told police the suspect pulled her into an alley just before closing time and tried to get her to perform a sexual act, but she was able to run away and call 911.
Detectives went door-to-door in the neighborhood Monday, looking for potential surveillance video of the suspect.
No arrests have been made and police haven't released a suspect description.
