Virginia State Trooper Injured in Prince William Accident

A Virginia State Police trooper was injured in an accident in Prince William County Friday morning.

Trooper R.D. Best was traveling north on Route 234 at 9:40 a.m. when a Nissan Altima on Pinnacle Ridge Road pulled into the path of his motorcycle. Best collided with the front end of the vehicle and was thrown from his bike.

His injuries are not considered life-threatening, Virginia State Police Spokeswoman Corrine Geller said.

The driver of the Altima, William B. Hash, 86, of Melbourne, Fla., was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
