Virginia Music Teacher Guilty of Soliciting Minor

A jury convicted a Virginia music teacher of solicitation of a minor Monday.

The Hanover County Sheriff's Office arrestsed 41-year-old Ryan Thomas Pick of Woodbridge last year after an undercover officer posing as a 12-year-old girl connected with him on social media, according to the Virginia attorney general's office. Pick sent a video of himself in a sex act and mention sex acts he wanted to particpate in with the girl.

During a search of his home, Pick admitted to chatting with who he believed was a 12-year-old girl.

Pick taught music for Fairfax County Public Schools and as a private instructor offering lessons at his home or the student's. He was the music director for his church.

The jury recommended a seven-year prison sentence. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 22, 2019.
