Virginia Millionaire Raffle Winner Keeping Day Job

Winner from Rockville

When a Maryland man realized that he had the winning numbers in the Virginia New Year's Millionaire Raffle, he said, "Holy Moley, this can't be right!"

Warner Ashby, a chauffeur who lives in Rockville, bought the winning ticket from a 7-Eleven on Georgetown Pike in Great Falls.

Ashby told News4 that he's happy with the windfall, but he does not plan on quitting his day job.  He said he even considered keeping the winning a secret, because he was afraid customers might stiff him on tips.

Ashby says he plans to visit his daughter and grand-daughter in Tennessee, and maybe take a trip to Hawaii.

The Great Falls 7-Eleven got a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Virginia Lottery says that in 2011, sales of lottery tickets and games generated $444 million for the state's public schools.
