A Virginia man is behind bars in Prince William County, charged in a rape case that dates back to the 1980s.
Karold Stallard, 77, of Earlysville, Va., was arrested Monday. He's accused of sexually abusing one of his students when he was a teacher at Evangel Christian School in Woodbridge. The female victim was 12-years-old at the time. It appears she just came forward last week.
The abuse started in 1982 and continued for five years, police said. It allegedly happened on school grounds many times.
Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants Monday and arrested Stallard in Albemarle the same day.
Stallard is charged with one count of rape, one count of forcible sodomy, two counts of aggravated sexual battery and two counts of indecent liberties by a custodian. He’s being held without bond.
