Virginia Lawyer Charged With Threatening to Kill Obama

A patent lawyer from Virginia remains in custody after allegedly sending an e-mail to the White House threatening to kill President Barack Obama and his chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, authorities said.

In court papers, a Secret Service agent said that Adam Albrett, 45, of Fairfax, sent a message to the White House on May 14 threatening to "blow the brains out of Obama unless he vacates the White House." In the same e-mail, Albrett also mentions his cat.

Albrett was charged in federal court in Alexandria with making threats against the president.

Albrett is in custody pending a detention hearing scheduled for today but postponed.
