A toddler is in stable condition after being left in an unattended vehicle by his parents, who are both Petersburg police officers, authorities said.

Dinwiddie police said the 19-month-old boy was left in the vehicle Wednesday evening. He was taken to VCU Medical Center when he was found.

Authorities haven't said how long the boy was left in the car in Dinwiddie County or detailed his injuries.

No charges have been filed against the parents, who were not identified. The case remains under investigation.
