Ocean City police have arrested two northern Virginia residents on heroin charges after a traffic stop.

Officers stopped a car about 2 a.m. Monday 85th Street and Coastal Highway and said they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Police say a search of the car turned up six packages of heroin, several prescription pills and drug paraphernalia.

Twenty-four-year-old Hannah Knoll Norris of Fairfax and 25-year-old Scott Edward Kahler of Falls Church were each charged with transporting heroin into Maryland, possession with intent to distribute heroin and other offenses.
