A Virginia man has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for killing a New York school superintendent over an online relationship between the school official and the man's wife.
A jury in November convicted Anthony Taglianetti of second-degree murder in the 2012 death of Keith Reed, who headed the Clymer Central School District.
Chautauqua County District Attorney David Foley says that Taglianetti didn't speak when given the opportunity at his sentencing Monday.
During the trial, Foley told jurors that Taglianetti, an ex-Marine, was driven to kill by a sexually explicit email he discovered between his wife and Reed. The two had had a brief physical relationship in 2010 and had renewed their acquaintance online.
Reed was shot three times outside the Clymer home where he lived alone.
